Scripture: Psalm 139:23–24 (NRSV): 'Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.'

Devotional Thought: Let’s be real: most of us know how to read a room better than we know how to read ourselves. David’s prayer here isn’t polite, it's desperate. He's saying, 'God, scan me like TSA. Search the baggage I’ve conveniently ignored.' Self-awareness starts with sacred honesty. Not just about your strengths, but about the parts of you that sabotage relationships, block your blessings, and grieve the Holy Spirit. You can't heal what you won’t face. And you can't grow if you keep ghosting your inner life. Let God read you and then let God lead you.

Emotional Intelligence Focus: Self-Awareness

Self-Reflection Question: What truth about yourself are you avoiding—and why?

Prayer: God, I’ve spent too much time avoiding the mirror. Show me what You see—both the good and the growth areas. Help me not to flinch when the truth stings. Make me more aware of who I am and who You’re shaping me to be. In Jesus' name, Amen.
