Triggered, But Still Saved

Scripture: Ephesians 4:26–27 (NRSV): 'Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not make room for the devil.'
Devotional Thought: You ever feel righteous anger turn into rage real quick? Yeah, me too. Paul’s not saying don’t get angry, he’s saying don’t let it morph into sin. Anger is a smoke alarm; it’s meant to alert, not to consume. The enemy loves to weaponize our unprocessed anger, turning holy discontent into harmful destruction. Emotional maturity means knowing when to let it out, when to let it go, and when to let God handle it. You’re allowed to be triggered, but you’re also responsible for what happens next.

Self-Reflection Question: When was the last time your anger helped heal instead of hurt?
Prayer: God, I confess that sometimes I let anger have the mic when it should be on mute. Teach me the difference between righteous anger and destructive rage. Help me feel without folding. Help me stand without sinning. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
